The Grays Harbor County Marine Resources Committee’s mission is to address local marine issues, recommend remedial actions to local, state, and federal authorities, build local awareness of the issues and support for remedies consistent with the Benchmarks of Performance as adopted by the Coastal MRC Work Group.

This meeting will include a workshop to review and comment on social indicators developed by Washington Sea Grant’s social science team.

Two basic goals for the workshops include:

  • Present the assessment of human wellbeing in the 4 coastal counties, focusing on key domains (Social Connectedness, Economic Security, Basic Needs, Health, Access to Social Services, Education, Safety, Governance, and Environmental Condition);
  • Get input on missing indicator priority areas (if any) for which there is existing data.

The workshop/meeting provides an opportunity for communities to identify social indicator data needs for future phases, which will be included in reports to the State.
